Right thing to do

The Canton Repository

SANDY TWP - Stark County Health Commissioner William Franks got a mess cleaned up this week. Workers at American Landfill in Sandy Township collected litter that was scattered by high winds for several hundred yards in the vicinity of Route 44 and Chapel Street SE.

No one would call this an environmental problem. It was more like an environmental annoyance. Nevertheless the Health Department’s ability to cite the landfill with an environmental violation compelled the landfill staff to clean up the mess. It was the right thing to do.
